Andrea Kavanagh is an award-winning visual artist who lives near the Dublin Mountains. Graduating from NCAD in Visual Arts Practice in 2019, her artwork is informed by her observations of the natural world around her, in particular its ephemeral and fragile nature. This fragility is echoed in the use of porcelain clay. In her recent work Andrea uses machine cut and polished acrylic discs and fishing line to assemble her delicate forms together. Kavanagh was awarded the prestigious ‘The ESB Moran Award for Outstanding Sculpture’ at The 192nd RHA Annual exhibition for her work “Inner Sphere” in 2022. She was also shortlisted for The RCSI Irish Times Art Award 2022. Her work was included in the RHA Annual Exhibitions since, Boyle Arts Festival 2023 “Connections”, Sculpture in Context 2019-2023, ArtRiddler exhibitions 2022-2024 and in “Bloodroot” at Pulchristudio in The Hague, Netherlands.
